2.21.24 Boda Insights: Three ideas about leadership

Shot of a group of businesspeople sitting together in a meeting

Good morning!

Our team has been thinking about what the most effective leaders are doing to thrive in today’s cultural and economic climate. We wanted to share these three recent articles that really caught our attention and made us pause and think:

  • A recent study shows that although psychological safety is an important component of effective teams, over-indexing on psychological safety can actually be detrimental to accountability and business results.
  • A growing trend towards “minimalist leadership” builds on the concepts of empowerment and servant leadership and then takes those ideas a bit further. Though counterintuitive, leaders who adopt this style are finding that the less they assert their control, the stronger and more innovative their employees are.
  • In this podcast, Jensen Huang, NVIDIA CEO and co-founder, explores not just AI, but also culture and how a flat structure at the highest level helps his employees exchange ideas quickly and keep up with the ever-accelerating pace of change in technology.

We hope you find them as thought-provoking as we did.

Be well,

The Boda/BTS team
